History of NurseIO

How NurseIO Evolved from Nurses Plus to a Leading Per Diem Staffing Platform

Written by Brittany Haddox

NurseIO started as Nurses Plus in 2018 and has grown into one of the most innovative healthcare staffing platforms in the industry. Built to modernize the way healthcare professionals (HCPs) connect with facilities, NurseIO has expanded rapidly, providing flexible per diem shifts and instant payments for thousands of users.

The Evolution of NurseIO

  • 2018 – The Beginning: NurseIO was founded by Seth Courson, Ryan Kober, and Callie Ott after acquiring a small, struggling staffing firm.

  • 2019 – Digital Transformation: Partnered with Coplex to develop a tech-driven marketplace, launching the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) in March and achieving post-revenue status by May.

  • 2022 – Rapid Expansion: Over 33,000 HCPs registered on the platform, with plans to enter new U.S. markets.

  • Present – Innovation & Growth: NurseIO continues to streamline staffing solutions, offering contactless timekeeping, automated onboarding, and real-time workforce management for healthcare professionals and facilities.

Why It Matters

NurseIO eliminates traditional staffing inefficiencies, allowing HCPs to choose their own shifts, get paid instantly, and work on their own terms, while facilities gain quick access to qualified professionals when they need them most.
