Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) can customize their notification preferences in NurseIO to control when and what types of alerts they receive. This guide helps Admins understand the process so they can support users effectively when questions arise.
How HCPs Access Notification Preferences
Navigate to the ‘Notifications’ Tab
Instruct the HCP to tap “Notifications” from the bottom toolbar in the mobile app or from the sidebar on the web.Select the Gear Icon
Once in the Notifications section, they should click the gear icon in the top-right corner.Configure Preferences
Here, they can:Select Days of the week they want to receive notifications.
Set Time Ranges during which they want to be alerted.
Control specific types of notifications they receive (e.g., new shifts, shift changes, bonuses, reminders).
Important Tips to Communicate to HCPs
Maximize Shift Visibility:
Encourage users to keep their notification windows open during their typical working hours to avoid missing high-priority or bonus shift opportunities.Device Settings Matter:
Ensure the HCP has enabled push notifications for the NurseIO app in their phone’s settings. Otherwise, the platform settings won’t trigger visible alerts.
Troubleshooting Scenarios for Admins
Issue | Suggested Action |
HCP says they aren’t receiving notifications | Verify notification times are set correctly and push notifications are enabled on the device. |
They want to stop notifications temporarily | Guide them to deselect all days or zero out the time windows in the preferences screen. |
Notifications seem off-schedule | Double-check for any time zone discrepancies or settings conflicts. |
Need to Escalate?
If an HCP is unable to update preferences or notifications still aren’t working after verifying their settings:
You can attempt to log the issue via Intercom using an internal ticket if necessary.
