How to Mark an HCP as a No-Call No-Show in NurseIO

Written by Brittany Haddox

Facilities can now mark Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) as No-Call No-Shows (NCNS) directly within NurseIO. This ensures accurate tracking, proper documentation, and the ability to refill shifts if needed.

Steps to Mark an HCP as a No-Call No-Show

1. Access the Shift Overview

  • Log into NurseIO and go to the Shift Overview page.

  • Locate the shift where the HCP did not show up.

2. Select the No-Show Option

  • The "Mark as No-Show" button will become available 45 minutes after the shift’s scheduled start time.

  • Click on “Mark as No-Show” to begin the process.

3. Confirm the No-Show Status

  • A confirmation window will appear.

  • Enter mandatory notes detailing why the HCP is being marked as a no-show.

4. Reopen the Shift (If Needed)

  • If the shift still needs to be filled, check the box labeled “I still need this shift filled.”

    • If checked, the system will re-offer the shift immediately to available HCPs.

    • If left unchecked, the facility will receive a credit for the shift.

5. Complete the Process

  • Click “Mark as No-Show” to finalize the action.

  • This will:

    • Trigger an automatic notification to NurseIO support.

    • Mark the HCP as “Do Not Return” (DNR) for the facility.

    • Apply a credit to the facility (if the shift remains unfilled for 6 hours).

Key Takeaways:

  • The No-Show option is available 45 minutes after the shift start time.

  • Notes are required when marking an HCP as a No-Show.

  • Checking “I still need this shift filled” will automatically repost the shift.

  • The HCP is marked as DNR for that facility after being reported as a No-Show.

  • Facility credit is only applied if the shift is not refilled.
